Presenting
fiercely original music since April 17, 1997
"Starting
out at the Silverlake Lounge, the Fold continually books bands
that are on the brink, jolting LA's burgeoning underground music scene
to new levels of visibility." Flavorpill LA
We
take pride in finding, incubating, and showcasing new music, whether local,
national, or international. The Fold continuousy scours L.A's tinsel strewn
streets in order to present the finest in new music, such as Local Natives, Sam Sparro, Robert Francis, Great Northern, Entrance Band, Castledoor, Alex and Sam, Tom Brosseau, Matt Costa, Lovelikefire, Ditty Bops, Cold War Kids, Bird and the Bee, Good Listeners, Benji Hughes, Silversun Pickups,
Autolux,
Earlimart, Metric, B.R.M.C., and Devendra Banhart as well as being the first L.A. club to host notables
such as Mates of State, Chairlift, Rufus Wainwright, Tapes 'n Tapes, Louis XIV, Vampire Weekend, A Place to Bury Strangers, Pinback, Bright Eyes, Black Heart Procession, Deerhoof, My Morning Jacket, The Kills, The Stills,
Secret Machines, TV on the Radio, Polyphonic Spree, Fiery Furnaces, and Broken
Social Scene among what must be at least two thousand more! Not to have mentioned numerous memorable shows from Acid
Mothers Temple, The Rapture, ...Trail of Dead, Elliott Smith, The Breeders, Neko Case,
and Jonathan Richman just to name names.
Although The Fold may be most closely associated with the Silverlake
Lounge (it's where we started and has been the home to over 2000 Fold
shows), we now also produce shows regularly in a number of Los Angeles
locales, large and small, chic and not even close to chic, but each with
their own unique charms.
