We’re happy to say that LA Weekly designated Kristin Hersh’s 8/29 show at the Bootleg Theater a Weekly Music Pick. Hersh helped define the alt-rock genre in the 80s as a co-founder of Throwing Muses, and has gone on to participate in several other musical projects, including the punk trio 50 Foot Wave and her decidedly quieter (eponymous) solo project. Weekly writer Falling James had kind words about Hersh’s music throughout her several decade career, emphasizing the “thoughtfully poetic” lyrics and “contrastingly intense” music that continually characterize her work.
