JMSN - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
JMSN
Twenty-five year old Christian Berishaj has been performing since he was a teenager but only under the JMSN moniker for the past year. With the new name came a new, raw sound that reflects the darkest, most parts intimate of his soul and is already drawing him comparisons to the Weeknd and gaining him fans of the likes of Usher and other heavy-R&B-hitters. He released his first album as JMSN, Priscilla, in early 2012. Self-directed videos for "Alone", "Hotel" and "Something" were released to accompany the album's release.
All Eyes West - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
All Eyes West
"All Eyes West featured the "man of a thousand bands" Jeff Dean on guitar. They had a 90's post-hardcore sound that would fit in well on the Dischord label with really catchy yet loud guitars that drove the songs and some great bass lines. Their singer has this really great voice that was raspy yet melodic in the way that Jawbreaker was in the 1990s. If you mix the loud Chicago punk guitar sound with that early 1990's DC sound you know what these guys were like. They were really, really good and should have played third. Hopefully these guys stick around and play more often as they are one of the best bands around the city today and a breath of fresh, yet familiar air compared to what's popular these days." - Michael Vinikour, examiner.com
Broadcaster - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Broadcaster
"Broadcaster plays fuzzed out, frantic indie rock that clearly has its roots in the classic period of the late ’80s/early ’90s when the indie world was more concerned with rocking out in a basement than growing a beard and recording folk songs in a cabin. At various points, I hear the Replacements, Fugazi, Jawbox and Sonic Youth, but at no point do I find myself thinking Broadcaster sounds overly derivative. I am definitely interested in hearing more from these guys"
- Kevin Finn, The Noise (Aug 01, 2011)
Astronautica (DJ) - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Astronautica (DJ)
Los Angeles producer Astronautica released her self-titled release on PH2 Records in January 2012. The beat mistress exhibits her penchant for atmospheric beds of sound complimented by captivating rhythms on the 6-track EP. Taking cues from a wide range of the electronic music spectrum, Astronautica delivers delicate, almost ambient textures in the context of modern hip-hop and R&B's head-bob inducing swagger.
