Celebrating the release of his latest solo effort, Spilling A Rainbow, Mike Andrews will be performing a weekly Wednesday night residency at the Bootleg Theatre throughout the month of August, titled “Open Mike Andrews.” The return of the "Open Mike" has Andrews curating the night with his band and a host of different collaborators each week.
Nik Freitas
Nik Freitas is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist living in Los Angeles, CA. A self taught musician and engineer, Nik records and plays everything on his albums. He has released 5 records since 2002, most recently "Saturday Night Underwater" in 2011.
Nik has toured his own music extensively and has been the opening act on many U.S./European tours for such bands as Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley, Jason Lytle of Grandaddy ,Jenny and Johnny, Azure Ray, and AA Bondy.
In early 2008, Nik became a member Conor Oberst's Mystic Valley Band. Freitas played guitar on and toured for Oberst's 2008 self titled solo album, and 2009's 'Outer South', including having two of his own songs featured on the album.
In 2010 Nik joined the live performing band for the Danger Mouse and James Mercer project Broken Bells, and spent the year playing guitar on the road with the band.
When at home, Nik can be found working with different artists on projects at his small home studio called Poppy Peak or at other studios on larger productions, most recently playing Electric guitar on the new Shins record "Port of Morrow".
Look for new recordings either of his own or with different artists in 2012 including the new Album and Documentary Film with Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band entitled "One Of My Kind".
