Kitten - (Set time: 10:30 PM)
Kitten
"Kitten is the kind of band that when you're hearing them everywhere in a few months, you'll remember fondly the first time you listened to them. If you haven't already, make that first time sooner rather than later–though the vocals of 16-year-old Chloe Chaidez are enough to keep pretty much anyone in the immediate area transfixed, the entire band seems to be composed of prodigies. And though they're young, they've been paying their dues and learning their craft for years. They've garnered comparisons to The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blondie and Cat Power, but Kitten is well on their way to being the band all the new kids are trying to sound like." --Cliche Mag
Body Parts - (Set time: 8:30 PM)
Body Parts
"The band: Body Parts, an Echo Park solo project-turned-band.

The sound: The band plays a wildly melodic brand of indie rock indebted to cerebral dance music makers such as Talking Heads and Dirty Projectors. Founder Ryder Bach’s voice is a high, shrill instrument that’s at its most powerful enmeshed in dissonant multi-tracked harmonies; his irreverent lyrics range from sincere calls for “more conditional love” to name-checking Miley Cyrus. (And that’s just one song.)

The random: Aside from a handful of vocal contributions, every note on the group’s seven-track “On Purpose” EP was played by Bach in his parents’ Long Island basement before he headed west and gathered the rest of the group."

Incan Abraham - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
Incan Abraham
Incan Abraham was founded in a garage in Rhinebeck, New York, in June 2009. In the fall of that year, the band relocated to Los Angeles, the hometown of three of its members, and Teddy, the only New Yorker, moved out West for the band. Since then, the band has released two EPs, Adult World (2010) and SUNSCREEN (2011), and maintained a constant stream of live shows in Southern California, as well as more far-flung appearances at CMJ 2010, San Francisco’s Noise Pop Festival, and SXSW 2011.

With a sound at once welcoming and exotic, Incan Abraham has received praise from NPR, TIME Magazine, and a number of respected local, national and foreign blogs. Earlier this year, the band launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a new series of recordings, and was able to meet and exceed its fundraising goal by a substantial margin. The fruit of that effort, a new short-form album titled Ancient Vacation, was released in October 2011. On the strength of this release, Incan Abraham has been able to take its sound to its largest stages to date, including several official showcases at CMJ 2011, and an appearance at the Wiltern with Beady Eye in December.
LA Font - (Set time: 11:30 PM)
LA Font
"If the crackling, Pavement-informed indie rock on LA Font's [2010] album 'The American Leagues' feels like a breath of fresh air compared to all the noisy navel-gazing on the scene right now, it's because songwriter Danny Bobbe probably still feels like an outsider. Bobbe moved from Montana to L.A. just two years ago, and his prickly songs have the feel of a wiseguy who suddenly finds himself planted in hipster heaven (if not a homeless haven) and who responds by flaming, with guitar and in verse. It’s reminiscent of other local favorites such as Rademacher, the Henry Clay People and Death to Anders, though none of them nails a baseball metaphor as LA Font does in the title track." – Kevin Bronson, Buzzbands.la
