In The Valley Below is a new musical pairing delivering hushed swirls of male and female vocals forged with dark stories of brooding riddles and romance. Currently based in the Echo Park area of Los Angeles, Angela Gail and Jeffrey Jacob have crafted a sultry collection of melodic duets in a bed of rumbling drums, synth machines, gritty guitars, and layers of strange and dreamy keyboards.
Kiven - (Set time: 8:30 PM)

Tyler Demorest, Danny Schnair, and Matt Cohen, known collectively as Kiven, hail from the smog-swept city of Los Angeles. While their musical influences have undoubtedly come from a wide array of musical and artistic spectrums, this trifecta ultimately blends together to create the band’s unique and personal sound. The band released their first EP, Two In The Same, in 2010 while still studying in school, and then followed with STEP in the spring of 2012, featuring their hard-hitting single, “Release.” Shortly after their sold out CD Release Show at the Bootleg Theatre in Silverlake, Kiven has continued to pack venues in the Los Angeles area on a nightly basis. Following the initial momentum and direction of sound from STEP (their previous EP), the recently released EP, "1840" continues to progress forward both sonically and emotively, reflecting Kiven's musical and personal growth. The tracks off of 1840 build in a more organic sense and with a naturally touching pull on the listener with pocket drums, grooving bass lines, hard hitting guitars, soaring vocals and lush harmonies. With the excitement of their new single, "Hope & Smoke", which reached #11 on Hype Machine and was featured on Indie Shuffle and Red Bull Soundstage, Kiven made their East Coast debut in New York for CMJ 2012 as an official artist – playing a handful of showcases including The Deli Mag, Audio Perv and a handful of other buzz-worthy CMJ bills. Shortly after, Entertainment Weekly went on to name Kiven as the #2 "Great Indie Discovery" from CMJ 2012.

Cayucas - (Set time: 9:30 PM)

No one knows summer like Santa Monica’s Zach Yudin, a man of leisure who recognizes “the epic” in something as simple as a twilight bicycle ride or a short drive up the coast. As Cayucas, Yudin has set about creating an impressionistic portrait of summer’s long, bittersweet dazzle.
An avid bird-watcher, Yudin majored in both Music Theory/Production and Japanese. He spent a post-grad year living and teaching in Tokyo, then taking the past couple of years to hone the sound of Cayucas. He posted a couple of songs online, picking up a lot of love and attention, but it was only when he entered the studio with producer/multi-instrumentalist Richard Swift last year that Cayucas was truly defined — sun-inspired jams that touch upon The Animals, Harry Belafonte and the surfer-folk mysticism of the Northwest.

Sanglorians - (Set time: 11:30 PM)

A new hard rock ensemble that is at once deft and mighty, Sanglorians are an harmonic exercise in presence; a lucid lyrical dialogue with past and future lives; an hermetic experiment with melodic roots in the dreamtime. Initially manifesting last December here in the City of Angels, Sanglorians is the given name of a new musical family born when songwriter Daniel Brummel made the timely decision to come out of an extended monastic hibernation and bring it all back home. An L.A. indie rock vet whose credentials include a dark solo folk record, a degree in music theory, and the legendary projects Ozma, Spain, Bad Dudes, and Monstro, Mr. Brummel held out on us for more than a decade with this backlog of songs. But it was worth the wait: Sanglorians forthcoming debut album is an unconventional manifesto of love and forgiveness, a deeply personal collection which paints a vivid picture of the individual constellation seeking to tap the collective unconscious, live in synchronicity, and embrace the transpersonal impulse. Sanglorians six-member roster includes bassist Jeremy Keeler (Get Set Go), drummer Matt Mayhall (Miranda Lee Richards, Lenka), Ihui Wu (Robotanists), Morgan Paros (Sandbox), and guitarist Jonathan Gomez.
