California based singer/songwriter Valente just released his EP, Alexandria on September 4th. Using his trademark cinematic, soothing sounds, Alexandria is a collection of 5 songs, serving as an appetizer to an upcoming full album to come later this year. Recorded for a large part at Aaron Embry's studio (Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes, Daniel Lanois & Elliot Smith), "Home", the first single from the EP showcases Valente's beautifully haunting vocals and eloquent lyrics, and is now available for free download.
Born Valente Bertelli in Rome, and raised in the Italian part of Switzerland, the singer grew up in a creative family. Having a Mother who was a Jazz Singer and a Father who was a Theatre Director, Valente was genetically destined for a future in music. Drawing influences from Brian Eno, Sting (both during and after The Police) & Peter Gabriel amongst others, Valente has shared the stage with Nouvelle Vague, and Skye of Morcheeba at Royal Albert Hall in addition to collaborating with a long list of people including Avi Buffalo, Angela McCluskey and Gordon Gano from The Violent Femmes.

The Iranian born musical prodigy wrote, recorded and produced all her own tracks – eerily dark and complex soundscapes reminiscent of bands like Bats For Lashes, Portishead and even composer Clint Mansell.

GARLAND’s music is a little shoegaze, a little garage rock – it even has a touch of ethereal dream pop. The Los Angeles based four-piece channels the history of indie-rock’n’roll, as their recent, immensely catchy debut album “GARLAND” attests.
