Hey Ocean! - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
Hey Ocean!
Often described as one of Canada’s best up-and-coming acts, Hey Ocean! is a young band with an extraordinary talent for blending various musical styles into a brand of infectious pop that is uniquely their own.
Together, Ashleigh Ball, David Beckingham and David Vertesi have created a musical repertoire that cannot be ignored – be it on radio, television or your neighbor’s iPod, Hey Ocean! will soon be everywhere.
Aside from the skillful delivery of their music, what sets Hey Ocean apart is the spirited character they bring to the stage. Three mischievous personalities combine to form a dynamic live presence that keeps concertgoers captivated and on their feet. In fact, live performance has been an integral part of what the band calls their “natural growth.” But what began as a very casual musical partnership between friends has, in less than four years, morphed into one of Canada’s most successful independent bands.
In 2008, Hey Ocean! unveiled It’s Easier To Be Somebody Else, a fusion of playfully funked up party-pop and thoughtful lyric-driven ballads, introduced to Canadian fans with no less than three cross-Canada tours. Aspiring to capture the power and intensity of their highly-charged live show in the recording process, the band hooked up with famed indie producer José Miguel Contreras (By Divine Right, Meligrove Band, Lily Frost, The Bicycles).
“We were wondering, how do we bring us and our energy to an album? Who are producers that do that? For some reason, José’s name came up. There’s an urgency to the music that he records that we thought would work for us.”
Leaders in the D.I.Y. generation, the band members have worked incessantly at building the groundwork of their career, releasing their sophomore album on their own label, Pop Machine, created with their friends from Vancouver band Said the Whale. Their efforts have been recognized by the industry, earning Hey Ocean opening spots with Xavier Rudd and Sarah Harmer. In the last year, they teamed up with Polaris Prize nominee Shad for dates across the country, and rocked thousands of fans alongside the much-admired Bedouin Soundclash. The band also wowed audiences at the Calgary Virgin Festival, the Saskatoon Jazz Fest, and the Whistler Arts Festival.
In 2011, Hey Ocean! hopes to build on their solid reputation with Canadian fans by working even more: more music, more tours and as many more festivals and outdoor events as possible. By popular demand, the group is also making a path to the United States to connect with its ever-growing fan base south of the border.
“We can’t wait to tour in other parts of the world and to experience those places the way we’ve been lucky enough to experience our own country. We’ve all traveled internationally, but the possibility of going away together and getting to share our music is a pretty exciting prospect.”
Continuously leaving fans in awe, Hey Ocean! combines sheer talent, charismatic songs, and an undeniably energetic live show, making them a must-see band.
Holly Conlan - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Holly Conlan
Los Angeles native Holly Conlan has carved out a distinct niche in Hollywood's expansive music community.

A 2008 release of her Bird EP saw Holly's first national exposure, with the languid piano and soaring cellos of "Winter" and the upbeat smirk of "OK" appearing in hit shows like One Tree Hill, 90210, Drop Dead Diva, Ghost Whisperer, The Ex List, and Privileged. That Summer, "You Are Goodbye" was awarded the coveted iTunes Single of the Week spot-- its heartbreaking lyric and haunting production garnering a slew of new fans. Soon the film world took notice, and Conlan was offered a spot on the soundtrack of The Other Woman (now in theatres) starring Natalie Portman. Radio play followed in a nod from KCRW (Top Tune - "OK") and her addition to their 2009 pledge-drive giveaway package.

With the support of LA's famed Hotel Cafe, Holly has been lucky to share the stage with a number of notable performers including Sara Bareilles, Colbie Caillat, Katy Perry, Cary Brothers and Butch Walker. As part of 2008's Hotel Cafe Tour, she traded sets with the likes of Ingrid Michaelson, Meiko and Erin McCarley. Plus, her addition of "I'll be Home for Christmas" to their holiday compilation, Winter Songs, rounded out the Sony/Epic release.

2009 saw the independent release of her newest LP, Fascinator. Which was also produced by Al Sgro (Meiko, Gary Jules) and mixed by Darrel Thorp (Beck, Radiohead).

The fall of 2010 was Holly's first national tour, opening for the three time Grammy-nominated artist, Sara Bareilles, while also joining Bareilles on stage for her set throughout the tour. In early 2011 Holly joined Dutch-American songwriter Laura Jansen on tour throughout Holland as her support act. In the summer of 2011 Conlan embarked on her third tour throughout the United States and Canada, opening for Sam Bradley. She is currently in the studio finishing her newest record, The Sirens, which will be released late 2012.
Carla Bean - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Carla Bean
Ms. Bean was born in a tiny tiny town, just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This town was home to a Gothic cathedral, a Medieval castle, a few European mansions, and a whole mess of forest and meadows. Carla Bean believes her imagination was allowed to thrive because of her unique up-bringing. The childhood hallucinations and night terrors probably didn’t hurt either. If you listen to her music, you’ll know, that whimsy and quirk are always essential ingredients.

Her mother, a creative writer and poet, and her father, a musician and visual artist, infused Bean with the bug for all things musical, artistic, and creative. She started playing her father’s various pianos, organs, Wurlitzer, accordions; and singing at the top of her lungs when she was supposed to be excited about dolls and Disney World. She was drawing twisted creatures in school, when she was supposed to be taking quizzes. Carla Bean got a disturbing amount of mileage out of the sticks and rocks that the woods provided her.

After years of being an essential ingredient in other bands, such as Fresh Cut Salads, Carla Bean teamed up with Producer and extraordinary musician, Rubin Edwards to take her own music to the next level. They have just given birth to Bean’s debut Album, “Mess of Things”
