The east and northeast areas of Los Angeles have become an indie rock hub drawing musician, venues, labels, studios and fans to the area of Silver Lake, Echo Park, Highland Park and Eagle Rock. With the sheer number of bands playing and emerging from this area, Pass the Music explores the concept of 'making it' and what it means to bands today.
The film takes a look at several bands at key parts of their careers - from those starting out to those at a crossroads. For many bands the pressure of success is intense and whether it's selling enough records to tour the world or simply making enough to quit their day job, the risk and reward for these bands face are very real. Shot over 2 1/2 years, Pass the Music captures the people and the bands who make up this thriving music scene circa 2008-2010 and is the story of the people who make the LA Indie scene one of the best today.

Radars To The Sky

"Radars to the Sky occupy the same emotional space as bands like Modest Mouse, R.E.M., Spoon, and The Arcade Fire; mature if melancholic indie rock that is if at times reflective, never introverted. In the spirit of indie rock dating back to post-punk, Radars to the Sky don’t shy away from experimenting and expanding their rock core with a variety of sonic flavors, (from grungy grime to rock freak-outs to pretty pop trumpets) and in this way their music could be best traced back to The Cure. Radars to the Sky have often drawn comparisons to Built to Spill, comparisons the band welcomes." - Classical Geek Theater
